The Previstorm warning system detects, analyzes, and records lightning occurrence both between clouds and between cloud and ground, within a range of up to 20 km and with an accuracy of 100 m.
Device condition checks are performed once every 2 years.
Previstorm is a local storm warning system that measures changes in the atmospheric electric field in the surrounding area. From these changes it continuously evaluates whether a storm is approaching or forming. Once the risk exceeds the set thresholds, it triggers an alarm / warning to protect people and operations.
Ideally, the manufacturer states up to 30 minutes. In practice, however, a storm may form directly in the center of the measurement area. In that case, you may only have a few minutes. It also depends on the sensitivity settings of the product.
For basic use, nothing special is required. A PC with software is enough. For warning people in the field, a beacon / siren is typically added. For the system to work, its components must be installed: outdoor electric field sensor, indoor connection box / power supply, software for configuration and monitoring.
You can receive Previstorm warnings in several ways: on computer, siren / beacon (light + sound), via automation / PLC (connection to operations), notification to the responsible person.
PreviStorm is certified to IEC 62793 (thunderstorm warning systems). From November 2025, IEC 62305-2 ed.3 explicitly mentions TWS (Thunder Warning System) and allows reduction of certain risk components thanks to it. PreviStorm is exactly such a TWS – your investment is in line with current international standards.
PreviStorm runs as a long-term rental, so there is no large upfront purchase. You rent the complete system for 6,300 Kč per month excl. VAT, with installation and commissioning included and a minimum rental period of 60 months. Tell us where it will be deployed and we will prepare an exact quote.
